Day 1: Nairobi / Coast – Tsavo East National Park

Your safari begins with a morning pickup from Nairobi or coastal towns like Diani, Mombasa, or Watamu. Enter Tsavo East National Park via Bachuma Gate (if from the coast) or Manyani Gate (if from Nairobi).

Tsavo East is known for its dust-red elephants, scenic plains, and the Galana River that supports a wide variety of wildlife including lions, buffalos, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and over 500 bird species.

Enjoy an afternoon game drive and later check in at your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Tsavo East – Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, depart for Tsavo West National Park, entering via the Mtito Andei Gate. This section of the park offers a dramatic contrast to the eastern side with volcanic hills, lava flows, and dense acacia forests.

Enjoy a visit to Mzima Springs, where crystal-clear waters bubble from underground rivers and attract hippos, crocodiles, and water birds. Continue with a game drive en route to your lodge, passing through the Shetani Lava Flow, an impressive volcanic formation steeped in folklore.

You may also visit the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a protected zone that houses endangered black rhinos.

After an adventurous day, relax at your lodge or tented camp as you enjoy views of the Chyulu Hills or Kilimanjaro (on a clear day).
