Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Tsavo East National Park

Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive southeast along the scenic Nairobi–Mombasa highway, arriving at Tsavo East National Park through Manyani Gate or Voi Gate by late morning.

After check-in and lunch at your lodge or tented camp, enjoy your first afternoon game drive. Tsavo East is known for its dust-red elephants, abundant lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and the occasional leopard. Keep an eye out for hippos and crocodiles near the Galana River.

Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drives in Tsavo East

Wake up to the sounds of nature and head out for an early morning game drive when animals are most active. Return to the lodge for breakfast and spend the rest of the day exploring different areas of the park.

Highlights may include:

  • The Yatta Plateau (world’s longest lava flow)

  • Lugard Falls and the crocodile-rich pools below

  • Mudanda Rock, a natural dam and observation point

After breakfast and an optional early game drive, check out and begin your return journey to Nairobi by road. Alternatively, we can arrange a drop-off at Voi SGR station for a fast train ride to Mombasa, Diani, or Watamu.
